Ventech China announced on Feb 21, 2017 to have invested in SUPER MONKEY’s latest round (RMB 50 million) as lead investor. SUPER MONKEY is an emerging fitness brand, targeting 20 to 40 years old fitness lovers. It operates different types of fitness class studios and 24/7 smart self-service containers, which have advanced automatic cloud management system, and it also allows customers to pay by visit.

Based on long term studies on China’s fitness industry, Ventech China strongly believes that with the consumption upgrade, fitness would become a rigid demand for Chinese middle class. A year and half ago, as the first institutional investor, Ventech China led the investment in Keep, currently the most popular fitness app in China. The investment in SUPER MONKEY is also based on the belief that the innovative operating model SUPER MONKEY implements would arouse a new trend in fitness industry. Differentiated from traditional gyms, SUPER MONKEY only charges affordable prices with very flexible payment rules which allows customers to pay by visit and there are no bundling sales. Ventech China highly values SUPER MONEKY’s innovative fitness classes. Firstly, SUPER MONKEY is focused on introducing the most globally fashionable and popular group exercising courses like Lesmills and Crossfit to domestic customers. Rather than copying the classes directly from abroad, SUPER MONKEY would redesign the courses and make it more like a fitness party, together with flashing lights and energetic music, which creates a relaxing but enjoyable atmosphere for customers. Every Friday night SUPER MONKEY would release the class schedule for the following week, and usually the courses would be fully booked up within only several minutes. In 2017, SUPER MONKEY would be more focused on developing original fitness classes and set up a fitness school that targets a larger group of people. Besides offline fitness studios, SUPER MONKEY also has smart gym containers where customers can do DIY training as well as get training from private coaches.
