Ventech China Portfolio WonderFull, a Japan-Chinese cross-border e-commerce company has recently completed JPY 5.3 billion (about USD 48.8 million) financing. The investors include SBI Holdings, Japan's largest pharmacy chain Sugi Holdings and Xinjin Holdings. This round of financing will be used for operations, marketing and team expansion.

Ventech China has supported WonderFull from its angel round of financing. Other investors include ITOCHU Corporation, Zhen Fund, IDG Capital, World Innovation Lab, SBI Holdings, Japanese telecommunications company KDDI and Chia Tai Group.

The business of WonderFull can be divided into 2 parts. One is the B2B2C cross-border e-commerce platform which sells high-quality Japanese products to Chinese consumers on its own app WonderFull; the second is to help Japanese brands expand to the Chinese market and to increase their brand awareness.

In China, WonderFull is one of the few cross-border e-commerce platforms that can directly build partnership with Japanese brands. Currently, it has collaborated with more than 3,300 Japanese brands and 40,000 SKUs. Since its launch in September 2015, the app has accumulated 20 million registered users, mainly in 20-30 years old. In 2019, Male users increased by 22% YoY and users born after 2000 increased by 100%.
