Ventech China’s Series A investment portfolio SummerFarm completed a new round of financing of several hundred millions RMB. The B1 round was led by Toutoushidao and co-invested by Conviviality Venture (Pernod Ricard). The B2 round of financing was led by Chengwei Capital. After these two rounds of financing, SummerFarm will officially begin to deploy nationwide.

Ventech China believes that with the explosion of domestic consumption upgrades, casual dining other than regular meals will surely be favored by consumers, as an infrastructure provider in this industry, SummerFarm will empower the fast-developing leisure catering industry based on its technical strength and supply chain control.

Geographically, in addition to the Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai regions, SummerFarm has already landed in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Fujian, Sichuan and Chongqing, and ot has begun large-scale expansion, forming a national backbone network, and cooperating with multi-brand customers to build a national supply chain network. At present, SummerFarm has 20 cooperative warehouses across the country, covering more than 40 cities, and serving more than 60,000 customers.

In the past, SummerFarm mainly served regional brand customers. Thanks to the spread of the national network, SummerFarm has now begun to provide standardized services for chain brands. Jiang Tao said that the procurement, warehousing, and distribution links of traditional brand merchants mainly rely on regional service models. When casual catering brands want to implement new product launches and product standardization, it is difficult to quickly promote them in all stores across the country. However, the current market lacks mature service providers that can provide standardized services covering the entire supply chain system across regions.

Another change is the company's upstream core technology control and the digital upgrade of the supply chain in China and Taiwan. Jiang Tao introduced that traditional procurement is mainly based on market procurement and cannot be controlled upstream. SummerFarm not only purchases directly from the production area, but also gradually introduces advanced breeding, post-harvest maturity control, and sorting and processing technologies in core fruit categories.

At the same time, the digital and informatization capabilities of middle- and Taiwan-based commodity scheduling, national pricing models, and intelligent distribution lines are also SummerFarm's core advantages.

SummerFarm has gradually begun to digitally connect with upstream and downstream brands to help upstream brands observe the circulation data of brand products in the market, and at the same time help downstream to manage the purchase, sales and inventory management of multiple types of stores nationwide.

Starting from such a pain point, SummerFarm provides companies with integrated services of procurement, storage, and distribution in upstream raw material procurement, quality control, product research and development, warehousing and distribution systems, and on-site distribution, so that new products will sink within 3-5 days to all stores throughout the country.

In the next step, SummerFarm also plans to help more new brands enter the casual dining market. Jiang Tao said that based on consumers' pursuit of healthy and fresh ingredients, the establishment of new consumer brands under categories such as fresh milk, oat milk, fruit juice, etc., has a lot of room for imagination for companies with channels.
