Ventech China RMB Fund portfolio - ICD, which focuses on the design of high-end semiconductor display screen chips, recently announced the completion of a new round of financing.

Ventech China is the Angel-round investor in ICD in 2021 and continues to support this round. Against the background of the relative decline in the IC design, as a domestic chip design company that has only been established for two years, ICD's ability to obtain nearly RMB 100 million in financing is remarkable. ICD adheres to the high-end and differentiated innovation, targets the global market, constantly enriching and consolidating technology development and innovation.

This financing round is led by Xinghua Dingli, including previousshareholders and a number of listed companies. After completing this round of financing, the company will accelerate the development of display control chips and complete solutions required for a new generation of medium and large-sized display systems, including Mini LED backlight systems, and begin the layout of vehicle-mounted display systems.

This year, the global consumer electronics industry is in recession and the semiconductor industry is in a downward cycle. Against the background that the investment and financing of IC design has dropped significantly, as a domestic chip design company that has only been started for two years, ICD is very rare to be able to obtain nearly RMB 100 millionin financing. The fundamental lies in the recognition of investors and industry parties on ICD's team capabilities, business philosophy, technical foundation and market strategy.

All the IP of ICD's products are independently developed. At the same time, the company has generated revenue of nearly RMB 20 million in IP licensing since its establishment. The team's core technology, marketing, and management personnel all have more than 15 years of R&D and management experience in well-known international and domestic companies, and many years of product R&D and mass production experience in international first-tier clients such as Apple, Samsung, LG, SONY, and Microsoft.

ICD has rich technical experience in optics, image processing, high-speed SERDES design, interface standard definition and implementation. The independently developed VQS verification simulation platform is the world's first Mini LED backlight and display system optical and image quality simulation tool software. It has expanded from serving chip core algorithm development to serving backlight module and display system product development. ICD has signed a VQS software licensing agreement with Xiaomi and is conducting trial verification work with many industry leading companies, including TPV and BOE. PMIC chips for display screens have been mass-produced and widely used in the South China market; the first self-developed Mini LED backlight control and driver chip solution was successfully put into production at one time, and some indicators exceeded the design targets; ICD’s first targeted High-contrast, High-quality High-end display-specific timing control chips are being developed and designed.
